Journey

valley Tim Mossholder

Sweet, doe-eyed expectations.
Glaring regret. Disappointment.
Abandoned.
Exhausted. Hopeless.
This is it.

I choose.

This is not the end.
The promise.
I stand strong.
He is able.
Home is my destination.

“Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.” Ephesians 6:14 NLT*

  2. Saw your post on Writing101 Commons and I absolutely love this poem! I am not sure what thoughts you had when you wrote it or what you were writing about, but my interpretation is that each day hopes for something better, but ends with disappointment. Longing to leave whatever the situation is, you decide to stay and rely on God’s strength to continue. Thank you for a great poem!

My map post for the day is a Travel Thanksgiving giving thanks to many places that have left their mark on me. I’d love to hear your feedback!

    • I’m delighted to hear you interpreted exactly what I felt and penned as simply as possible. I consider that high praise. Thank you so much for commenting. I can hardly wait to read your post, especially now.

My son had to teach me to whistle. Jus sayin’.
