For weeks we’ve walked about at first light in shorts and bare-armed against the heat. This week I wore jeans and covered my arms from the chill. Still, by mid-afternoon temps were in the high 90’s to low 100’s again.
Change is in the air. Around my neighborhood rich greens are already fading.

We’ve had a slight drop in temperature, as well as a few storms, and Costco has their Halloween costumes out. Now all we need are the pumpkin flavors to hit the coffee shops, and we can declare summer over! (In Phoenix, our season changes are subtle. You take any sign you can get!)

I remember quite well, Christi. I think of the year of 120-something degrees for a week, driving my Baja bug convertible to wotk at 39th Av & P, and I snap my fingers at 104 degrees here. Thank you for stopping in. ❤

Yours is the first mention of fading summer this year. I take that as a good omen, since summer is my least favorite season. I must say, ours has not been bad this year. Still, now that one grandson has left and the other has only a week more here, I’m ready for a change of season. It’s time to move on as this glorious summer ends.

I feel you, Anne. As a young adult I couldn’t leave the desert fast enough. I returned to be close to friends and family there, but couldn’t stay long. I visit in early spring & late fall. The usual predictable seasons has long been one of my favorite features of this area, so a few cool mornings is quite welcome.
