Since we’re already feeling change in the air I’m reposting from What Next, Sept 2016 and reflecting upon how far we’ve come. I highly recommend it!
Someone recently posed the question, “Do you have a favorite season?”
I wonder what makes any one season favored above the others. I enjoy them all!
Variety enhances life, especially seasonally. I thrive in climates with four distinctive, equal seasons. Early signs of the approaching season exhilarate me, but I don’t really have a favorite. I love bundling up to take in the silence of snowfall in winter, the invigorating color displays and refreshing air in spring and autumn and warm, balmy summers delight me. But I especially like change when the current weather becomes tedious.
Following are photos from our recent visit around Glenwood Springs, Basalt and Carbondale, before autumn falls 😉

I Love Nature and being outdoors but since I can no longer drive thanks to poor eyesight (retina) problems I must live in the city so I have access to public transportation.

My favorite season is summer, then spring and fall. New York winters are brutal and dangerous. Since I have arthritis it is very difficult for me to walk or negotiate snow and ice covered streets. Sadly some people and businesses do not shovel or put salt on their sidewalks. Getting to work becomes a nightmare since the Transit system gets worse day by day.

I can commiserate with you, Deb. In my youth I lived in Phoenix, AZ. The long summers there can be brutal too. One advantage in the city as compared to the country is feeling a bit less isolated.

Another reason I can’t stand winter is that the skin on my arms and legs comes off! It’s like a horrible painful rash. Also unsightly. Last winter I was in so much pain I lived on Benadryl. Summer hydrates my skin and no pain. Only thing I don’t like about summer are the bug bites. But I can live with that as opposed to peeling winter skin.

Lovely pictures, Roo. I with you all the way regarding seasons. I do like Spring best but I wouldn’t want Spring forever. I like Winter least, but I do like to have a bit of it. 😀

Last year I returned to the Northwest after circling around the country the 3 years prior, we experienced the longest, harshest winter in decades. You can safely bet we were very glad for spring. Thank You, Oneta.

That’s marvelous that you love the four seasons equally. I have tried! They don’t come to me equally. Spring has never lasted long enough, and Summer outstays her sweaty welcome. You are blessed to enjoy them without favoritism.
